WEST BLOUNT STREET TRAFFIC CALMING PROJECT
Scope of Work
The scope of this project is the installation of two (2) ADA-compliant asphalt raised crosswalks, ADA ramps and landings, and one (1) valley gutter on West Blount Street. A bid alternative is listed for two (2) raised crosswalks with brick pavers and ribbon curb, along with the valley gutter. The efforts associated with this project include, but are not limited to, excavation, removal/replacement of existing landscaping, mailboxes, water meters, water valves, asphalt work, and concrete work. All work shall be in accordance with the general notes, specifications, and construction plans included as Attachment A. Below are the street name and limits of work for the proposed sidewalk. The contractor shall bid this project according to the constraints of the general notes, specifications, and construction plans. A site visit to determine any unforeseen issues is strongly recommended.
West Blount Street - from North Reus Street to North Baylen Street
The lump sum maintenance of traffic item shall include all signs, devices, and other costs associated with maintaining traffic during the construction including weekend work. No night work shall be permitted on this project.
Complete work under this contract shall consist of installation of required erosion control features (including sandbags), cover and protect storm water inlets, installation of new sidewalks, and placement of sod. All proposed line and grade work shall be approved by the City Inspector.
Contractor’s work shall include the necessary coordination of all existing utilities with respective owners and to timely address any potential conflicts with required work. All sod placed shall be properly watered and maintained until permanently rooted/established to the satisfaction of the City.
Maximum access shall be provided to the property owners at all times during construction. Care shall be exercised to not cause any damage to adjacent infrastructure being left in-place during reconstruction. Any such damage shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
All work shall be in accordance with the standards and specifications of the City of Pensacola.
