ACADIA PARISH POLICE JURY
OWNER
Sealed bids for Window Replacement - Acadia Parish Cou11house will be received in the conference room of the Acadia Parish Police Jury Administrative Building at 505 N.E. Court Circle, Crowley, LA 70527, until 2:30 p.m. CST, Tuesday, May 21st 2024 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
Electronic bidding is also available through Central Bidding. The website to send an electronic bid is www.centralauctionhouse.com.
Plans and specifications may be examined, without charge, in the office of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, 505 NE Court Circle, Crowley, LA 70527.
Contracting Documents: Complete Bidding Documents for this project are available in electronic form from the Architect.
Printed copies are not available from the Architect, but arrangements can be made to obtain them through most reprographic firms and/or plan rooms. All plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. Complete sets of Bidding Documents shall be used in preparing bids; neither the Owner nor the Architect assume any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of Bidding Documents. The Owner or Architect in making the Bidding Documents available on the above terms, do so only for the purpose of obtaining bids on the work and do not confer a license or grant for any other use.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond using the Owner's form payable to the Acadia Parish Police Jury, the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposed Base Bid plus all Alternates. Money Orders will not be accepted.
The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract written in accordance with Louisiana law.
Bids shall be accepted only from contractors who are licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for the classification of Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2214.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site (main entrance), at 10:00 a.m. CST, May 7th 2024. Bidders are encouraged to attend.
The owner reserved the right to reject any and all bids for just cause.
A.The project includes (but is not limited to):
Removal of sashes of existing windows, frames shall remain; provide wood trim over existing window frames, waterproof with flexible flashing and aluminum cladding prior to installing aluminum storefront and curtain wall fixed windows.
Repair of existing finishes around window openings.
Bidding:
Base Bid: All work on the South Side of the building.
Alternate Number One: All work on the East Side of the building: Bidders shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to ProceedTime of Completion (Per Instructions to Bidders) 180 consecutive calendar days
Liquidated damages (Per Instructions to bidders) in the amount of $630.00 per calendar day the work exceeds the time of completion.
Bids must be submitted on Bid Forms furnished for this purpose by the Architect. The bidder must execute all blanks in the bid proposal or the bid will not be considered.
Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, forms, and subject to the conditions provided for in the Information for Bidders. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570.
Attention of Bidder is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed which reads: "NON-DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT; BIDDERS ON THIS WORK WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE PRESIDENT'S EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 11246. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BIDDERS AND CONTRACTORS UNDER THIS ORDER ARE EXPLAINED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS."
No bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
